Medical and pharmaceutical translation is one of the most difficult disciplines within our industry and also one where there is no room for error. A document that is not translated to 100% accuracy could have far-reaching consequences; literally it’s a matter of life and death.
Consequently clients seeking medical translation need to be absolutely confident in the professionalism of their provider to assign projects to only those who are fully qualified to work on such important material. They must be specialists within the relevant medical field and have the ability to communicate in the most up to date medical terms; being qualified in the desired foreign language is not enough.
We work across all fields and disciplines within the medical industry.

Icelandic belongs to the North Germanic family of languages. There are in total about 334,000 Icelandic speakers in the world, of which, about 320,000 live in Iceland, about 8,000 live in Denmark, 5,000 in United States and another 1,400 in Canada. The Icelandic language developed from the Viking Age West Norse speech, which was bought to Iceland by the settlers. Icelandic is an inflected language, which means that the words change form to express grammatical information. In Icelandic the main stress is always on the first syllable of a word.
Nouns in Icelandic are either masculine, feminine or neuter. The gender of Icelandic nouns is grammatical, which means that it relates to the form of a noun rather than its meaning. Masculine nouns usually end in -ur, -í, -ll or -nn. Feminine nouns often end in -a or have no ending at all. Nouns ending with -ing or -un are generally feminine too. Neuter nouns generally have no ending. The definite article in Icelandic, which is equavalent to the English ‘the’ is added to the end of a noun like a suffix, and has different forms depending on the gender of the noun it is added to.
